Last Sunday we ventured out to the shore again. This time we went to Stone Harbor, NJ which was a first experience for Leigh and I as well. We stayed with Aunt Ashley and Gramma and Grampa. First order of business once we arrived in the late afternoon was to suit up and head down to the beach. It was a beautiful day with temperatures in the 90s. The kids were very good, but the waves and other sights and sounds were a little scary at times. A few cries but lots of screams of glee. Through the next few days, we had continued heat in the 90s and clear skies. The kids had ice cream from Springers which was very tasty and they also sampled the sand which was not as tasty. By Wednesday, they were playing in the sand with shovels and buckets and smashing little sand castles that Leigh and I would make. They played and entertained Gramma and Grampa. Jack enjoyed holding a football and pulling the velcro tennis ball off the scatch pad. Nora liked crawling on the sand with her outdoor crawl which involves keeping her knees off the ground and her butt in the air. They had their first showers under the outdoor shower.
Since we were staying in a rental house which was not baby proof, they enjoyed emptying all the toiletries from the bathroom cabinets and unrolling all the toilet paper. They were quick to climb the stairs and clear off all the side tables.
Once home, Jack started playing with the cat by dangling a string from one of his toys for the cat to bat around. He has 8 teeth now, 4 on top and bottom. Nora is content with her 2 on the bottom. She has strung together 3 or 4 steps before sitting down.
