Christmas eve we attended the 4:00 service which was for kids. They had a little trouble sitting still :) but they went up with their Sunday school class and sang "go tell it on the mountain" and one other song. They did quite well. After the candle light songs were sung, we headed home to have a lasagna dinner with Granpa Dan and Uncle Mark. The kids put out carrots for the reindeer and cookies and milk for Santa. And Christmas morning they found that Santa and the reindeer enjoyed their snack and had left a bounty of gifts including a skateboard for jack and a dollhouse for Nora. Jack was caught saying "this is the best Christmas ever" on more than one occasion. After all the gifts were opened and we headed up to num num and pop pop's for another bounty of gift giving. It was a special morning to put it mildly. The joy of Christmas through a 3 year old's eyes is amazing. We returned in the afternoon for dinner with the extended family and ate way too much but everything was soooo good, it's hard not to over eat :) we spent the rest of the week playing with all the kids new toys and making little excursions. We went to the America on Wheels museum and the kids got to sit in a Mack truck and a go cart.
New years was pretty low key. We had take out Chinese food and watched a movie, Kung Fu Panda II and went to bed early. Maybe next year we will stay up and throw confetti :)
