Mother's Day and the carnival

For Mother's Day, we took Leigh out for brunch and the food was very good. No eggs Benedict but creme brûlée was a nice substitute. Later we went up to num num and pop pop's for another delicious meal! We waited until the late evening and launched a bunch of Chinese lanterns. The wind blew them up and away but it was very cool.

This past week was the church carnival and they were both over the 42" height requirement so there were new rides for them this year. They had a great time on the giant slide, the scrambler and rock-n-ride. We went on Thursday and then again on Saturday with num num and pop pop. They played a bunch of games and won inflatable aliens, a plane, a rose, a trumpet, spinners and balloons. Follow that up with some ice cream and you have some very excited and happy kids. I was volunteering as a face painter, so I painted Jack like a tiger and Nora got a butterfly face. I had to get a funnel cake and it did not disappoint. It was a great day.

We followed that up with a party for cousin Eric on Sunday. We celebrated his 3rd birthday with looks of riding of his power wheels 4 wheeler, soccer, playing in the sand, bubbles and air rockets. It was another great day.
