Mother's Day to Memorial Day

Seems like the last few weeks have been a blur. The kids only have 8 days of school left in second grade and today is Memorial Day. The official kickoff to summer and the temperatures this past week have definitely been summer-like, 90+ for a couple of days. The kids had their field day last Thursday and it was very hot and we had a yard sale this weekend with equally hot weather. Made the pool temperature jump up and feel very refreshing on these hot days.  Yesterday Jack and I took the Mustang to our first car show. We met Ash and Scott and had a good time checking out all the classics. Jack definitely has found his car of choice, Corvette. He was picking them out left and right. He got a little matchbox of a 1971 Mustang convertible. Nora and Leigh had a good time spending time together. Nora got a smart girl doll and is really excited about being "nerdy".

For Mothers Day, the kids and I made eggs Benedict, fruit salad and creme brûlée for Leigh. The last few years we had gone to the brunch at Edge but I think our home version was almost as good :) we got num num some flowers and a blanket and got to spend the afternoon with her and the family.

In between Mother's Day and Memorial Day, there has been a lot of baseball. Jack has been doing very well and got his first full inning of pitching. He walked two and struck out three against the top of the order against the best team. We were very proud of him. He got a new bat and has been hitting well. He has been playing every position and has gotten to catch in a few games too. Nora continues to practice her gymnastics and will have her recital in two weeks.
