Tuesday was the first day of first grade. Just before school Nora's second tooth fell out. This was met with much excitement from her and much sadness from Jack since he has yet to loose one. They said recess was fun and they enjoyed the cafeteria and getting to have their own desks. They drew pictures, Jack's was of a palm tree with coconuts and Nora's was a deer.
We celebrated Labor Day on Sunday up at Num-num and Pop-pop's. The weather was warm and sunny. The kids tried a birch beer float for the first time. Nora loved it, Jack did not. I had been at a business conference in Dallas, TX for 3 days and got them souvenirs from the House of Blues - guitar picks and t-shirts. As soon as they got the picks, they wanted to play the guitar and also take them up to the picnic. They performed one sound with Nora singing - lyrics involved an alien that would hurt you if you were not nice to it and also an acoustic jam.
On Monday, we met up with num-num and pop-pop for a round of mini-golf at Lucky Strokes. We followed it up with some soft ice cream and some arcade. Thanks pop-pop for treating! We stopped up to the house for a little and had an official Labor Day round of crochet.
